The industry-leading physics model Le Mans Ultimate leverages the physics and driving simulation technology of rFactor2, building on the foundation of pMotor 2.5. This allows the game to utilise more advanced simulation techniques, such as hybrid units, while becoming more accessible and community-friendly. It removes barriers to entry while retaining key elements of simulation racing. The tyre dynamics are excellent, utilising an advanced 'brush' model that accurately replicates slip angles and features such as vehicle 'flat spots' that you can really feel. The 400 Hz physics engine provides a highly detailed and predictable steering wheel feel for steering wheel users, and presets are available that work directly with many leading hardware manufacturers. The game also offers improved controller support and selectable, adjustable difficulty levels, enabling players to choose their desired level of assistance, including help for beginners. Dynamic racing experience Realistic day and night cycles are a key element of this simulation, with incredible lighting effects as you race at dusk and dawn at speeds of over 200 miles per hour. Le Mans Ultimate utilises the advanced Real Road 2.0 track evolution simulation found exclusively in Studio 397 titles. Just as in a real racing session, the track starts out green and relatively low-grip at the beginning of the weekend, becoming more worn as more cars pass over the racing line and carry dust, dirt and pebbles off it. Several areas have been improved, including dynamic weather effects such as rainfall and windshield contamination, as well as more realistic water flow and puddle formation on the track. Cars will also change during the race, becoming covered in accumulated dirt and debris, giving them an authentic, weathered endurance look.
