What's new in NBA 2K26? This year's NBA 2K26 focuses on greater realism in both the game and the presentation of the entire spectacle. Players have more detailed models thanks to new shading technology, and the courts have refreshed lighting — you can really see the difference. There have also been many changes to the commentary. Alongside the familiar voices, new analysts, reporters, and announcers have been added to bring more energy and diversity to the broadcast. Commentary at the end of games has also changed to better reflect the tension and drama of key moments. (I recommend throwing a three-pointer in the final seconds!) The most important new feature when it comes to gameplay is the ProPLAY Motion Engine. Based on real NBA game footage, this solution makes the players' movements look and behave more naturally than in previous editions. Footwork, acceleration, and stopping dynamics have been improved, as has the shooting system itself. These changes introduce a more intuitive pace and greater control over every move. We will definitely come back to this. The range of offensive and defensive tools has also been expanded. New layup variants, additional post-moves, and the ability to play defense more precisely give you more room to maneuver in the game. Your opponents' AI has been improved, and the whole game has been sped up, requiring faster decisions and better reactions from players. It does make a difference, although mainly in the details. My impressions of NBA 2K26 The first thing that caught my eye in the reviewed NBA 2K26 was the movement of the players and the AI. The players run more smoothly and react faster to commands. There is no longer a sluggish feeling on defense. On offense, dynamic drives to the basket are now much more satisfying. A new shooting system has been added, which is a small change but one that is immediately noticeable. I liked the fill-up arrow, but the new indicator is even better! It's worth taking a moment to explore MyPlayer mode, which looks solid this year. The Called Out of Bounds campaign once again focuses on the MyPlayer character's path to the NBA, and our performances and choices play a significant role. We start as an anonymous high school player, and every game we play — whether with a youth team or a European club — affects our future in the NBA. This brings back the emotional weight of the original MyPlayer mode (then called MyCareer), when you had to prove your worth step by step. A huge advantage! It's also difficult to overlook the new animations and the accurate reproduction of NBA stars' movements. Take, for example, Thompson's signature three-point shot, Jokic's "muddy" layups, and Durant's graceful mid-range shot. These details demonstrate the level of work put into creating an immersive experience. Details like these make the game look and feel more authentic. Clearly, ProPLAY isn't just a marketing slogan; it actually affects the gameplay experience, which is always worth appreciating. Of course, not everything went perfectly, and a few elements still need refinement — I'll discuss those in a moment. Still, my first few hours with NBA 2K26 made it clear that the series is taking another step toward more dynamic and realistic basketball. There's no revolution, but I don't think anyone was expecting one. In summary, it's worth playing NBA 2K26 is full of contrasts. On the one hand, elements like MyGM and the intrusiveness of microtransactions remain unchanged and cause frustration. On the other hand, it's hard not to notice the real improvements, from improved player movement and a new shooting system to more engaging online modes that add dynamism and authenticity to the games. They also belong to one of four elements (Fire, Wood, Wind or Earth), creating a system of dependencies similar to that in the Pokémon series. However, team management is not just about choosing the line-up. We can also set the formation freely, conduct intensive training to improve the characters' statistics and equip players with special items, such as shoes that boost speed or gloves that strengthen the goalkeeper's defence. It is also important to maintain the morale and relationships between players, as this can lead to powerful combination techniques. This depth turns the process of creating the perfect team into an engaging game in itself, where every decision has a real impact on the outcome on the pitch. It is this blend of management and sports action that defines the strength of the series. Hissatsu – spectacular special techniques! What has always set the Inazuma Eleven series apart are the Hissatsu: fantastic special techniques that transform an ordinary football match into an epic, anime-style battle. In Victory Road, they make a stunning comeback with new, improved graphics. Each player can learn several of these techniques, both offensive and defensive, and using them consumes energy points (TP). However, you can download EA Sports FC 26 right now, completely free of charge, and get ahead of everyone else! Which platforms will EA FC 26 be released on? EA Sports FC 26 will be available on a wide range of platforms, including both current and older systems:PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4,Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.PC,Nintendo Switch (first generation) and Nintendo Switch 2,Amazon Luna (cloud version).The full package of new features will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC: extensive HyperMotion V animations, improved ball and player physics, detailed stadium models and the most advanced graphics effects. While the modes will remain mostly the same, the animations and visuals will be less impressive. EA promises that the Nintendo Switch 2 experience will be similar to that of the current generation of consoles, offering full content, new graphics and support for all modes. Meanwhile, the original Switch console will once again receive a hybrid edition with limited details and missing effects, as well as lacking the latest animation technologies. However, it will still offer full access to the main game modes.The cloud version on Amazon Luna will be technically identical to the PS5/Xbox Series/PC editions, although its quality will depend on internet connection bandwidth and stability. New features and gameplay changes In EA Sports FC 26, the gameplay changes are a direct result of player feedback – EA is advertising the new edition with the slogan 'Gameplay powered by community feedback' for good reason. Most of the improvements have been made to the fundamentals, such as dribbling, AI, physics and goalkeeping. Better ball control and dribbling The Dynamic Dribbling system shortens the intervals between touches, improves dribbling animations, and enables faster reactions to opponent movements. Players behave more naturally: turns are smoother, defenders react faster to feints and the differences in agility between short and tall players have been balanced. The result? Dribbling is now more responsive, allowing for subtle changes of direction that realistically increase your chances of getting past an opponent. Smarter AI and improved physics Players now position themselves better on the pitch, support their teammates more effectively and react to the unfolding action. Defenders play more responsibly and full-backs are more willing to attack if they have space. Accidental ball deflections have been reduced, so a successful tackle is more likely to result in interception. Physical clashes have been enhanced with new animations for pushing and shielding the ball, making player positioning more realistic, including in the air. Goalkeepers have new animations They are more likely to deflect the ball to the side or over the goal than at the feet of the attacker. Their positioning and aggressiveness in one-on-one situations has improved. Despite a noticeable improvement in the number of 'accidental' rebounds in the test version, there are still passive reactions and unusual animations – EA has announced that they will continue to work on the goalkeeper AI until the release date. Changes to shots and offence Low driven shots are back, performed by double-pressing the shoot button. These have completely replaced the Timed Finishing mechanic. While these shots look impressive, players have noted that the game's meta still favours powerful shots under the crossbar, with which goalkeepers have much more difficulty. New PlayStyles+ and Player Roles The system of special player attributes (PlayStyles) has been expanded with new variations and the introduction of roles. These influence a player's behaviour on the pitch: for instance, a Box-to-Box midfielder moves the ball more smoothly, while a Wide Winger performs better in one-on-one situations. Engine and graphics The game still runs on the Frostbite engine and there has been no revolution in graphics. The PC hardware requirements are the same as for FC 25, and initial materials suggest a similar level of detail. However, there are smoother animations and better rendering of turf and kits, and improved ray tracing lighting effects may appear on next-generation consoles. The most significant changes, however, concern the gameplay mechanics themselves rather than the appearance. FC 26 Career Mode – player and manager This year's Career Mode focuses on greater immersion and dynamic challenges. The most notable new feature is Live Manager Challenges, which are special scenarios based on real events or 'what if' situations. These can be short episodes (a few minutes of a match, such as turning the tide of a game), or longer stories spanning several seasons. Ultimate Team is a feature of EA Sports FC 26 The biggest new feature is FUT Tournaments, which are classic online cup competitions. Players compete in a four-stage tournament ladder, where the loser is eliminated and the winner advances: round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. This format is familiar to fans of older instalments of the series and has been eagerly awaited by the community. The second pillar is live events: seasonal activities with unique themes, rules, and rewards. These events may require players to build a squad from a specific league, nationality or card level and sometimes introduce special modes (e.g. Mystery Ball). Another new feature is the Event Hub, which allows you to check the rules, rewards and progress towards goals all in one place without having to click through complex menus. The PlayOff phase has been removed from the FUT Championship; qualification now takes place directly by reaching the appropriate division in Rivals, for example.
