Its course is determined by the actions of the infantry, and it is so important that some operations can be performed only on our side. Besides, thanks to Direct Vision, the title allows us to take direct control of a selected unit and watch the action in TPP or FPP view. In the skin of a given soldier, we can carry out the shooting ourselves or even drive a tank on the battlefield and control it ourselves. When it runs out, the generator in the centre of the city shuts down and the citizens have no protection from the cold. The player must build mining outposts, buildings to produce food, hospitals to treat the sick and houses to rest in after a hard day's work. Frostpunk 2, like its predecessor, places great emphasis on difficult moral choices. More than once we will have to compromise our morals in the name of survival. Different development paths The game also allows us to choose the characteristics of our nation and its leader; it's up to us whether we want to lead a people of warriors into battle, or whether we want to make great geographical, scientific and technological discoveries. If we choose the path of conquest, we will find ourselves in automated skirmishes where the outcome of the battle is determined by the strength of the units involved. On the map, our army is symbolised by pawns, which can be divided and placed on the board according to individual preferences. Adapting the action to the terrain Whichever way we choose, more and more territories will come under our control, and we will be able to decide on their specialisation; territories rich in iron can be used for the production of weapons or tools, those covered in forests for the production of paper, while gold-rich territories can be used for smelting coins or jewellery. It's a good idea to sell the surplus of manufactured goods so that we can use the money to develop our nascent empire. Historical and alternative eras As we progress, the game allows us to enter new eras. In addition to the epochs known from the pages of history, there are a number of alternative epochs waiting to be explored, presenting other variants of history, governed by their own laws, available technologies and units. At the same time, our actions can plunge the world into one of the Crisis Epochs; however, the prevailing disorder, caused by war or disease, will be used to the advantage of skilled strategists and shrewd leaders. This is important because the country that manages to dominate the others will dictate the terms of victory here.
