Unknown 9: Awakening is an action-adventure game developed in collaboration between Reflector Entertainment Studio and Bandai Namco Entertainment. The player begins each quest in a safe starting point, where he can choose his equipment and skills. After leaving it, however, he traverses successive arenas, in most of which he fights hordes of enemies. Passing each chamber is rewarded with special powers, health boosts, gold, etc. These powers are mainly derived from the gods and goddesses of Greek mythology. There are more than a dozen of them in Hades 2 - Zeus, Poseidon, Athena, Aphrodite, Artemis, Ares, Dionysus, Hermes and Demeter, known from 'The One', return, but there are also new characters, such as the god of light, Apollo. After each death, the player returns to the starting point and has to start the game all over again. So to speak, because some of the progress you have made is preserved, following the pattern of the "one". In Hades 2, every success and every failure is rewarded in its own way. If we choose the path of conquest, we will find ourselves in automated skirmishes where the outcome of the battle is determined by the strength of the units involved. On the map, our army is symbolised by pawns, which can be divided and placed on the board according to individual preferences. Adapting the action to the terrain Whichever way we choose, more and more territories will come under our control, and we will be able to decide on their specialisation; territories rich in iron can be used for the production of weapons or tools, those covered in forests for the production of paper, while gold-rich territories can be used for smelting coins or jewellery. It's a good idea to sell the surplus of manufactured goods so that we can use the money to develop our nascent empire. Historical and alternative eras As we progress, the game allows us to enter new eras. In addition to the epochs known from the pages of history, there are a number of alternative epochs waiting to be explored, presenting other variants of history, governed by their own laws, available technologies and units. As you complete them, you will have to make decisions that will affect the fate of the heroine and her companions. We are often hampered in this by enemies, with whom we engage in dynamic clashes using a blaster with various modes of operation. As the enemies can outnumber us, it is often better to stay quiet and take them out by surprise than to attack frontally. Stardew Valley is a sandbox RPG inspired by the hugely popular Harvest Moon farming series, best known from Nintendo's portable consoles. The hero's task is to restore the farm to its former glory. Game mechanics The general principles of gameplay in Stardew Valley are almost a carbon copy of the solutions known from the aforementioned Harvest Moon series. So the starting point here is an economic game in which we are mainly concerned with managing and developing our farm. We start the whole game by restoring it - digging up stones, cutting down trees and weeding out weeds. We then move on to planting, watering and harvesting crops, which is our main source of income. Over time, we will be able to grow more and more crops and even raise animals, and we can invest the money we earn in developing the farm. Great freedom of action The realities of a classic economic game described above have been framed in Stardew Valley as a Sanbox RPG. The title gives us a great deal of freedom in this respect, offering an extraordinary variety of activities and tasks to which we can devote ourselves, depending on our preferences. In addition to farming, our protagonist can go fishing, visit a nearby mine and search for useful resources, and even venture into dungeons where dangerous monsters and valuable treasures await. All this is complemented by an advanced crafting module, typical of sandboxes, and a character progression system that allows us to improve our hero's various skills as we progress through the levels. Human relations An equally important aspect of the game is integration with the local community. When not working in the fields, our farmer can go to a nearby town, take part in various events, interact with the characters we meet and carry out the tasks they give us. As in Harvest Moon, the game also offers the possibility of romance and, in the long run, marriage and children. Multiplayer mode Stardew Valley was originally designed as a single-player game. However, after the release of the title, the author did not stop working on its development and in later updates of the game introduced a number of new elements, including the possibility of multiplayer gameplay in cooperative mode. Technical issues In terms of setting, Stardew Valley is very similar to the first instalments of the Harvest Moon series, with simple 2D graphics in a top-down view reminiscent of productions from the era of 16-bit consoles.
